MATH LEARNING GOALS

 

Chapter One

        Skills that need to be secure: (Children can apply the skill or concept correctly and independently)

§        Count by 2’s, 5’s, 10’s

§        Make tally marks and give the total

 

        Skills that are developing: (Children show some understanding.  However, errors or misunderstandings still occur.  Reminders, hints, and suggestions are needed to promote children’s understanding)

§       Find values of coin and bill combinations

§       Know easy addition facts (sums to 10)

§       Identify place value for ones tens and hundreds

§       Complete number sequences; identify and use number patterns to solve problems

§       Find equivalent names for numbers

§       Compare numbers; write the symbols £   ³, or =

 

 

Chapter Two

        Skills that need to be secure: (children can apply the skill or concept correctly and independently)

§       Know easier addition facts (sums to 10)

§       Solve simple additions number stories

§       Find equivalent names for numbers.

§       Know harder subtractions facts

§       Know harder addition facts

§       Know easier subtractions facts

§       Solve simple subtraction number stories

§       Complete the Frames and Arrows diagrams
