Welcome to St. James School!
We are excited that you are applying for enrollment for the 2015-2016 school year. We know that our school is a very important ministry of our parish. We appreciate the support you give our parish as a parishioner or as a member of our school family. We are pleased that as a parent you value the quality Catholic education provided by our school. Our school theme, “Growing Together: Faith, Family and Friends”, summarizes our mission for each and every student, parent and staff member. We strive to continue to do our personal best in providing the optimal faith and learning environment. This commitment reinforces the Kansas City-St. Joseph Diocesan Strategic Plan. The three pillars of the strategic plan include schools that are distinctly Catholic, academically excellent and fiscally stable.

We are able to commit to operating a Catholic school instilling the traditions of our faith and the values you appreciate because of your support of time, talent and treasure. As a tithing member of our parish, we thank you for accepting a share of the financial responsibility in assisting our parish in carrying out this ministry. Stewardship is critical to the success we experience at St. James Parish. We encourage you to continue to be good stewards of the gifts God has given you as this allows us to continue to offer quality programs for your family with no additional cost of tuition.

For your convenience our application process is online. Please contact the school office for the link if you have not already received it. As you complete our application for enrollment, it should take you approximately 15 minutes. It is necessary to complete the online application in one sitting otherwise you will be timed out. We follow a priority of acceptance for students. If you are a registered member of St. James Parish, please be sure all of your contact information is current with the parish office. If you are a Catholic member from another parish or if you are a non-Catholic wanting to pay tuition, please contact the school office at 816-781-4428.

The enrollment period for students currently attending St. James School is usually completed by the first week of March and then the process for enrollment is open to new families.

Priority of Acceptance
When a class has a waiting list (K-5 class size limit is twenty-four), students are admitted to St. James School based on the following priorities:

• First - Children who have continuously attended St. James since the start of the current school year (family is tithing, active parishioners).
• Second - St. James families who are tithing, active parishioners with siblings in the school for at least one full school year.
• Third - St. James families who are tithing, active parishioners, without siblings in the school or with siblings who have not completed a full year at St. James (ordered by the greatest number of years as a registered and active parishioner.)
• Fourth - St. James families without a history of active involvement, willing to become tithing, active parishioners.
• Fifth - Tithing, registered parishioners in other Catholic parishes, willing to pay full tuition if their parish does not share their tithe with St. James.
• Sixth - Catholics from other parishes with no record of tithing, willing to pay full tuition.
• Seventh - Non-Catholic families, willing to pay full tuition.

Please note that your registration is NOT complete until payments, a voided check if applicable for automatic withdrawal and paperwork for new students is turned into the school office. You will receive a confirmation email when you have successfully submitted your application online.
