Welcome back to the 2008-2009 school year! Back to School means back to Athletics participation for your children.

St James offers the following sports programs:
Volleyball 4th -8th grade girls fee: $60.00 per child
Basketball 3rd-8th grade girls & boys fee: $60.00 per child
Track 4th-8th grade girls & boys fee: $25.00 per child
Marathon Program fee: $10.00 per child

Volleyball game days:
4th & 5th grade: Sunday
6th & 7th grade: Saturday
8th grade: Tuesday & Thursday

In an effort to help get you ready for Athletics registration at Meet the Teacher Night on Sunday, August 17th we would like to make you aware of changes to St James Athletics procedures and to those of the Kansas City Parochial League. At Meet the Teacher Night this year there will be a registration table in the gym where you can sign your child/children up and pay for all sports participation for the year.

CHECKLIST OF ITEMS NEEDED:
1. Registration Form filled out completely
2. Payment attached
3. Permission to Participate form completed

Practice begins the first week of school. Your child will not be able to participate in practice until all forms/payment are received. Coach’s will contact you with your child’s practice schedule.

If you chose to only register your child for the current season or are not sure of what sports your child would like to participate in, please be mindful of the following deadlines as this will continue for the 2008-09 school year.

Volleyball registration deadline is Wednesday, August 27th
Basketball registration deadline is Monday, October 27th
Track registration deadline is Monday, March 3rd

Registration will be accepted for one week past the deadline date but will be assessed a $25 late fee, per sport, per child. Any registrations received later than the one week grace period will be reviewed at the Athletic Director’s discretion.

Payment is due at the time of registration. Please make checks payable to St James Athletics.

In addition to the Athletics registration form and payment, your child needs to have a Permission to Play form signed by a parent/guardian. Continuing for the 2008-09 school year parents will only have to fill out ONE form for the entire school year provided that they circle on the form all sports that their child will be participating in.

8th Grade Volleyball Tournament

The 8th grade class will again this year play host to the 5th Annual St James 8th grade volleyball tournament September 11-14. Show your support for our 8th graders by purchasing a tournament t-shirt at Back to School Night. All students purchasing a t-shirt will be allowed to wear it to school Friday, September 12th.

For your convenience, all forms can be found under the Forms Tab for you to print off and bring with you to Meet the Teacher Night. Additional forms will also be on hand at the registration table.
